The SOARING SOCIETY of AMERICA

The National Organization:
  • The Soaring Society of America (SSA) is the national pilot's organization for sailplanes.
Membership is open to anyone interested in the sport of soaring.
SSA publishes a monthly full color magazine, offers training manuals and supplies, sponsors seminars and sanctions competition events. They have a group insurance program for glider owners and renters. Every other year, they host a convention with a sailplane trade show and speakers sessions. The next convention will be in 2014.

The web page for the organization is
    www.ssa.org.
It shares links to many other soaring groups, news updates, member blogs, photo gallery, records archives and an on-line magazine archive for research for members.

The next SSA Board of Directors Meeting is February 23, 2013 in Houston, TX.

Caracole's owner, Cindy Brickner, is a national Board member, representing Southern California.
You may contact her about Society business or for information on membership.
